Rub-a-dub-dub, a turquoise tub!

We’ve been tub shopping and cringed at the idea of having to shell out thousands of dollars for a new tub.  We really want our master bathroom to be as pimp as can be on a sort of modest budget.  We went from looking at new claw foots, to Victoria & Albert limestone baths, to building one ourselves, to realizing how hard it would be to build one ourselves, back to Victoria & Albert until we looked at our bank accounts…. and then EUREKA!  We found a $300 cast iron claw foot at Re-Store, the building supply store ran by Habitat for Humanity (whom we want to eventually do work with once we’re done with our space).

With a new paint job and new enamel, we’ll still have only spent a fraction of what we would have had we gone with a new tub.

Here are a couple progress shots.
